Each of these buttons is called a toggle button, because it either switches a simple setting on or off, or rotates through a group of settings. For example, the Wi-Fi toggle button turns your Wi-Fi connection on or off. The Sound toggle button changes your sound settings from “Sound” (all sounds on), to “Vibrate” (sounds off; vibration on), to “Mute” (all sounds and vibration off).
