Here, the person asking the question doubts whether she has ever seen a film which she likes. A is in the Indicative, which expresses certainty, and we need doubt here. B is an infinitive and does not fit in this sentence. C does use the Subjunctive, but the verb is in the plural and we need the singular here. C is the answer. A is an Imperfect. B is in the PasseSimple, but it is the verb “Avoir”, and here we need “Etre”. D is not the Passé-Simple, but the PasséComposé. 33. Select the best response.

B is impossible: “Vous” would imply that the question was asked using “Vous”, whereas it was asked using “Te”. Therefore, the other person answers using “M’” . “Le” is impossible as a direct object, since “De l’” is used to introduce “Argent”. C cannot be used: We have just seen that “Le” is wrong here. As far as D is concerned, it doesn’t work since the person is answering a question about him/herself. FRENCH SAMPLE TEST In the question here, we have a direct object (“Des poemes”) and an indirect one (“A ta petite amie”).

A la A. --De petits secs galettes. C. De D. A B. --De petites galettes seches. A is right! Unfortunately, the French language just loves exceptions: “En” is used for countries ending in “e” –feminine countries-, and “Au” for countries ending with another letter – masculine countries-. Alas, some countries ending with “e” are masculine, therefore requiring the preposition “Au”: Le Mexique, Le Zaire, Le Cambodge, and… Le Maine (etat americain). B is wrong: “A la” is used for small island (A la Jamaique, for example).
