The advantage that one business has over another business organization due to more effective and efficient use of information systems and ICT to deal with competitive forces. Information systems and ICT can be used to implement these strategies to achieve competitive advantage. For example, marketing information systems can be developed to enhance the information available from sales and marketing systems. This information can be used to target customers or suppliers to identify market niches for products and services.
For example, is there a trade-off between timeliness and information accuracy? Then provide three examples of information that may provide a business organization with an advantage over other competing business organizations. It is sometimes stated that information is power. In this context discuss whether you believe information should be available to all employees of a business organization or whether only a restricted set of information end users should possess (or own) the information available within a business domain.
