In spite of the high transcriptional activity of the Y chromosomal lampbrush loops we found no testis protein coded for by the Y chromosome (Hulsebos et al. 1983). To understand the genetic properties of the Y chromosomal genes we investigated the molecular properties of the DNA of several lampbrush loops.
