Read e-book online Chip Multiprocessor Architecture: Techniques to Improve PDF

Chip multiprocessors - also referred to as multi-core microprocessors or CMPs for brief - at the moment are the one approach to construct high-performance microprocessors, for quite a few purposes. huge uniprocessors are not any longer scaling in functionality, since it is just attainable to extract a constrained volume of parallelism from a customary guideline circulation utilizing traditional superscalar guideline factor recommendations.

Get Principles of Data Conversion System Design PDF

This complex textual content and reference covers the layout and implementation of built-in circuits for analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion. It starts with easy innovations and systematically leads the reader to complex themes, describing layout matters and strategies at either circuit and process point.

Download e-book for iPad: A VLSI Architecture for Concurrent Data Structures by William J. Dally (auth.)

Concurrent info buildings simplify the advance of concurrent courses via encapsulating accepted mechanisms for synchronization and commu nication into information buildings. This thesis develops a notation for describing concurrent information buildings, provides examples of concurrent information buildings, and describes an structure to aid concurrent facts constructions.

Efficiency in Development Making development more efficient means building more functionality, in less time, at less cost. Doing so depends on a variety of factors, including the reuse of services and the ability to quickly compose applications from those services. This in turn requires a different approach to service and solution development than the approach that was used in the past. Developers of services can no longer create services in isolation, but rather, the services must fit into the overall architecture and conform to the enterprise business and information models.

Introduction The next decade will be filled with winners and also-rans. Those companies on top will have learned how to use IT as a strategic differentiator that provides them with a sustainable competitive advantage. This will be built on a foundation of SOA that exposes the fundamental business capabilities and information as flexible, reusable services. These services will support a layer of business processes that can be easily changed to provide new products and services to keep ahead of the competition.

Instead, the bank took a gamble on a relatively new, distributed technology, Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA). The specific technology they chose is less important than the approach. The first thing they did was to create distributed objects to represent the different types of accounts. These objects provided an abstraction layer between the user interface and the mainframe systems that actually implemented the accounts. Next, they wrote a new user interface, using Visual Basic (VB), that provided account information to the customer service representatives by accessing the different systems via the CORBA objects.
